Ultrasonic Technologies Sells second RUV system to Bloom Energy
Ultrasonic Technologies Inc., has sold its state of the art Resonance Ultrasonic Vibrations (RUV) Crack Detection System to Bloom Energy, a Sunnyvale, CA based company that provides breakthrough solid oxide fuel cell technology to generate clean, highly-efficient power onsite. February 8, 2011
Solar Cell Inspection: Taking A Closer Look Forget about the days when an estimated global capacity of 25 MW was something to boast about; today, a single manufacturer can run multiple 25 MW production lines, routinely turning out 20,000 to 30,000 cells per day.
Of course, fabrication is only half the battle. A product can't succeed unless it performs. That makes solar cell inspection, whether for quality assurance or process control, absolutely essential. December 29, 2010
Ultrasonic Technologies Relocates Ultrasonic Technologies, Inc recently relocated to a new facility in Wesley Chapel, FL. The new space provides a new production area, a lab, a conference room and offices for staff. We are very pleased with our new space and feel confident that the space will allow us to provide exceptional service to our customers. November 20, 2010
RUV 2.2 System Receives TUV Certification Resonance Ultrasonic Vibration (RUV) model 2.2 successfully passed TUV certification. Receipt of the certificate demonstrates that an internal quality control system is in place for the products approved by TUV Rheinland at UST manufacturing facility. Read More... September 16, 2010
U.S. Department of Energy awards $1.4M to Ultrasonic Technologies The award will fund development of manufacturing processes to scale up production of Resonance Ultrasonic Vibration (RUV) technology as new and proven industrial quality control and crack detection system for Silicon Solar Manufacturing. Pinhole Detection using RUV System.
Ultrasonic Technologies developed a proprietary method to identify silicon wafers
and solar cells with small, sub-millimeter “Pinhole” defects and cracks.
“Pinhole” represents a seed point anomaly which dramatically reduces wafer and
cell strength and ultimately leads to breakage and yield reduction. UST researched
and developed an Activating Station add-on which is once integrated with our RUV
system allows successful detection of “Pinhole” cracks. August 21, 2009
Wasting money in the solar factory.
Typical cell manufacturing line with a capacity of
1800 cells/hr, suffers a loss of 500K to more than 2 million Euros each year due to
cell and wafer breakage during production. May 18, 2009
Ultrasonic Technologies Sells RUV system to Suniva, Inc
Ultrasonic Technologies Inc., has sold its state of the art Resonance Ultrasonic Vibrations (RUV)
Crack Detection System to Suniva, Inc., a Norcross, GA based solar cell company that develops,
manufactures and markets high-efficiency, low-cost monocrystalline silicon solar cells. February 16, 2009 OTB Solar Orders Crack-Detection Equipment From RUV Systems
OTB Solar - a provider of design, engineering, development and manufacturing
of tailor-made inline solar cell production equipment - has placed an order with RUV Systems for
Resonance Ultrasonic Vibrations (RUV) crack detection. The unit ordered, a RUV 2.2 QC Automatic,
will provide both offline and an inline crack detection.
Ultrasonic Technologiesis now offering Resonance Ultrasonic Vibration System, Model RUV-3, the latest tool in crack detection, RUV model 3 is for inline detection of cracked wafers and cells in standard solar cell production lines with automatic, pick-and-place robot-controlled wafers loading and unloading. See RUV - Production - Inline Crack Detection page for details. Ultrasonic Technologies is now offering Research and Development crack detection systems, consulting services, training and support.
